Pioneering Digital Transformation in Pakistan's Textile Sector From Textile Printing to Technology Leadership

Texitech’s story began in 1994, born from a practical need within a family owned textile printing company. At the time, Pakistan’s textile industry faced a significant design bottleneck 30 to 50 senior designers were needed, but skilled talent was scarce and difficult to onboard. The answer came in the form of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), a then revolutionary concept.

High end CAD systems available on the market were prohibitively expensive, with price tags around $500,000. However, an innovative company in Paris Info Design offered a more affordable and equally effective solution for just $100,000, running on standard PCs instead of costly Unix workstations. Rather than simply purchasing the software, the founding team negotiated to become Info Design’s official agent in Pakistan. If a sales target was met, the initial investment would be fully refunded. Within two years, Texitech achieved that goal, received the refund, and firmly established itself as a technology company.

Bridging the Gap Between Manual and Digital

Texitech’s early years involved a steep learning curve. Transitioning companies from manual processes to digital systems like accounting software, ERP, and Document Management Systems was groundbreaking. Texitech offered not just the tools, but also the training and support businesses needed to overcome resistance to change.

Where others hired IT technicians to implement CAD, Texitech trained textile designers in CAD resulting in better design quality and higher user adoption. Still, early implementation was challenging. Many users, often with only matric level education, were wary of unfamiliar terms like DELETE and feared losing their work.

Lessons That Shaped the Company

The early experiences laid the foundation for Texitech’s values and operating principles:

• Consistency and Persistence – Success doesn’t come overnight.
• Creative Problem Solving – Unconventional solutions often work best.
• Calculated Risk-Taking – Trust the numbers and take the leap.|
• Early Mover Advantage – Boldness often brings reward.
• After-Sales Focus – The second sale is as important as the first.
• People First – Technology only works when people believe in it.

Building Confidence Through Training

Texitech realized that human resistance not technical limitations was the greatest obstacle. Clients demanded speed, quality, and ROI. But more importantly, the people using the systems needed to trust them. In response, Texitech launched its own training institute to prepare users and build confidence a bold move that proved instrumental to its success.

Breaking Ground: The First Major Sale

Texitech’s first major CAD system sale came from Faisalabad in its second year. The deal hinged on extended hardware warranties, guaranteed software recovery, and a year of free training an early example of the company’s commitment to long-term partnerships.

From Past to Future

What started as a solution for one company’s bottleneck evolved into a mission that helped shape Pakistan’s textile industry. Texitech played a pioneering role in introducing and scaling Digital Transformation from digitizing design processes to introducing AI-driven document management systems.

Today, Texitech continues to lead by putting people first, solving real problems, and driving innovation not just with technology, but with empathy, training, and vision.

This is the history of Texitech a story not just about software and systems, but about changing mindsets, building confidence, and transforming industries.
