Karachi: Edhi Village near Toll Plaza
In Karachi, our Texitech team embarked on a mission to plant 25 to 30 trees. These carefully selected species include:
- Jujube Fruit (Bair): Known for its sweet and nutritious fruit, the jujube tree also contributes to the local ecosystem by attracting birds and insects.
- Naseberry (Chiku): This tropical fruit tree not only provides delicious fruit but also adds to the green cover of the area.
- Almond (Badam): Almond trees offer shade, beauty, and nutritious nuts while improving air quality.
- Neem: Known for its medicinal properties, the neem tree plays a vital role in promoting a healthier environment.
Lahore: C-Block Park
Our efforts extended to Lahore, where we planted 60 to 65 plants. The species chosen for C-Block Park include:
- Black Plum (Jamun): Besides its tasty fruit, the black plum tree absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen, benefiting both humans and wildlife.
- Flame Tree (Gul Mohar): With its vibrant red flowers, the flame tree adds aesthetic appeal while contributing to environmental sustainability.
- Sukhchain Tree: This native tree supports biodiversity and provides shade for park visitors.
- Neem: Once again, the neem tree proves its worth by enhancing the green cover and supporting local ecosystems.
Islamabad: G9/1 Cricket Ground
In Islamabad, Texitech planted 10 to 12 trees at the G9/1 Cricket Ground. These trees, including species like neem, contribute to:
- Mitigating Urban Heat Island Effects: By providing shade and cooling the area, these trees create a more pleasant environment for recreational activities.
Promoting Green Spaces: The cricket ground becomes not only a sports venue but also a place where residents can connect with nature.
